The world of mobility is changing fast. New technologies and new players are emerging on the market every day. Our customers are aligning their behaviour and expectations accordingly. They demand flexibility, multi-modal solutions and want to be informed everywhere and at all times. In order to meet their expectations and satisfy them as best as possible, the SNCB has decided to set up an innovation program.

It is based on four pillars:

  • The Innovation Lab: a team of innovation experts who work autonomously on proofs-of-concepts.
  • The Innovation Community: a working group around seventy employees from all SNCB departments. They feed the program with innovative ideas and ensure interaction between the whole organisation and the Lab.
  • External partners (startups, corporate partners, etc.): collaboration with companies that can help us improve the customer journey for our customers by means of new technologies and innovations.
  • An accelerator program where our employees have the opportunity to bring their innovative ideas to life with the support of a coach and the appropriate tools.
